Semi-finals set up blockbuster finals
Primary school showdown
Parkies and Windhoek Gymnasium have a date set to compete in the U13 final of the Namibia School Sports Union (NSSU) primary schools rugby as both teams won their semi-finals last weekend.
The Pionierspark Primary School rugby field was fully packed on Saturday as the Namibia School Sports Union (NSSU) semi-finals took place, with Officeconomix as the main sponsor.
All the games were broadcasted on the My Zone Facebook, to make sure viewers everywhere could enjoy all the action.
In the main under 13 Super League semi-final matches, Windhoek Gymnasium took on Pro-Ed Academy and St. Joseph’s took on Parkies.
Parkies were determined to see themselves in the final and hearing the crowd cheer them on against St Joseph’s, they came out strong from the first minute, eventually winning the match 48-0.
Parkies captain, CJ Vermeulen in his post-match interview said: “I think our ball handling could be better. There were a few knock-ons that didn’t help us, but we stuck to the plan and the fluidity in the backline was really good.”
In the U13 Super League final, the team in orange will face Windhoek Gymnasium, who beat Pro-Ed Academy 19-17 in what turned out to be a really tight game.
Other results
In the U13 Reserve League, Rehoboth Primary School advanced after a 32-5 victory against Moria.
The other finalist will be Walvis Bay Primary School following their 34-24 win against St Joseph’s Primary School.
U/12 semi-finals

U/11 semi-finals
Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaatskool 59-0 Elnatan Privaatskool.
