DOING IT FOR THE NEXT STAR: Namibian marathon ace Helalia Johannes launched her foundation at Nictus Ongwediva in the Oshana Region on Saturday. Johannes said there is no assistance for athletes in the country and she wants to use her experience to assist young, talented athletes to achieve their dreams. She said she aims to promote others to take up the sport of long-distance running in Namibia. The marathon runner was also implored by sports minister Agnes Tjongarero, upon her return from the Commonwealth Games, to groom the next big star who will take after her when she moves on from active competitions into coaching. She ran 21 kilometres with the athletes of the Ongwediva Run Along Foundation.
