Namibia exhibits at World Travel Market

Networking with the world
NTB showcased under the theme 'Travel', which offered a chance to highlight Namibia's diverse landscape, rich cultural heritage and unique wildlife experiences.

The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and 15 exhibitors from the Namibian tourism industry co-exhibited at the World Travel Market (WTM) in Cape Town last week.

The event took place from 10 to 12 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

This year’s event promised to be a milestone in Namibia’s quest to solidify its position as a premier family holiday destination in Africa, NTB said.

NTB showcased under the theme 'Travel', which offered a chance to highlight Namibia's diverse landscape, rich cultural heritage and unique wildlife experiences, from the vast sands of the Namib Desert to the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha National Park.

“Namibia offers a range of attractions for adventure seekers, nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike,” said NTB.

It said the objectives of Namibia’s participation at WTM Africa 2024 were to raise awareness about Namibia as a premier family holiday destination among travel industry professionals, media representatives and potential travellers attending the event.

It also aimed at generating leads and partnerships with tour operators, travel agencies, airlines and other travel-related businesses, driving tourism growth in Namibia by attracting more visitors, increasing visitor spending and promoting sustainable tourism practices and responsible travel initiatives.



Forging new relationships

An exhibiting session was held, which focused on engaging in various presentation platforms, networking opportunities and marketing strategies to attract attention and interest from visitors and fellow exhibitors.

This involved showcasing stunning imagery and providing information on travel experiences. The highlight of the exhibition was the Happy Hour networking session, offering an opportunity for industry professionals to forge meaningful connections.

Overall, NTB said Namibia's participation at WTM Africa 2024 served as an opportunity to showcase the country's tourism potential, forge partnerships and drive growth in the travel industry while also promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices.
