Windhoek (fis) – Welche Zukunft hat die deutsche Sprache in Namibia angesichts der demografischen Entwicklung? Mit dieser Frage beschäftigte sich der Vorstand der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Schulvereine (AGDS) heute Nachmittag in Windhoek auf einer Sondersitzung, die im Anschluss an die Jahreshauptversammlung stattfand. AGDS-Vorsitzender Hanjo Böhme (Bild) wollte eine Standortbestimmung besprechen und legte dazu ein Positionspapier vor. Wie sollte man auf die Situation reagieren, die durch sinkende Schüler mit Deutsch als Muttersprache (DaM) und steigende Schüler mit Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) geprägt ist? Böhme meinte im AZ-Gespräch, dass beide Zweige ihre Berechtigung hätten und man eine Brücke bauen müsse, um DaM an den Schulen zu stärken. Laut dem AGDS-Vorsitzenden gibt es in Namibia momentan ca. 1300 DaM- und ca. 8700 DaF-Schüler. (Foto: Stefan Fischer)
