Nun habe eine neue Ära angefangen, beteuerte gestern der Minister für Umwelt und Tourismus Pohamba Shifeta (l.) - eine Ära, in der Plastiktüten in namibischen Naturschutzgebieten der Vergangenheit angehören. Gemeinsam mit der stellvertretenden Umweltministerin Bernadette Jagger und dem Direktor für Wildtier- und Nationalpark-Management Colgar Sikopo weihte Shifeta vor der Einfahrt zum Nationalpark Daan Viljoen eines von vielen Schildern ein, die Parkbesuchern künftig das Einfuhrverbot von Plastiktüten in „universell verständlicher Sprache“ verdeutlichen soll. Damit seien von nun an diese „Umweltsünder“ aus geschützten Arealen verbannt. Der Minister erläuterte hierzu jedoch ein paar Ausnahmen und nannte auch die Strafen, denen Sündern künftig ins Auge blicken müssen. Mehr dazu auf Seite 3. Foto: Nina Cerezo
