Windhoek (fis) – In einer Marathon-Sitzung in Windhoek hat die SWAPO gestern ihre neue Parteiführung bestimmt, wobei Staatspräsident Hage Geingob all seine Vorschläge durchgebracht hat. Erst heute früh nach 4 Uhr wurden die Ergebnisse der Wahlen für das Führungsquartett bekannt. Demnach wurde Geingob (574 Stimmen) zum Parteipräsidenten gewählt und setzte sich gegen Jerry Ekandjo (153) und Nahas Angula (39) durch. Zur Vizepräsidentin wurde Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah (552) bestimmt, gegen die Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana (194) und Helmut Angula (20) angetreten waren. Neue Generalsekretärin der SWAPO ist Sophia Shaningwa (523), zu ihrem Vize wurde Marco Hausiku (545) gewählt. (Foto: Stefan Fischer)
