Windhoek (NMH/cev) – Der Treibstoffkonzern Shell will vor der namibischen Küste nach Öl suchen. Bis zum 4. August hat die Öffentlichkeit Zeit, Bedenken und Meinungen zu dem Vorhaben einzureichen. Ein entsprechender Umweltbericht wurde von der namibischen Beraterfirma SLR Environmental Consulting erstellt, der im Internet eingesehen werden kann (http://slrconsulting.com/za/slr-documents/shell-namibia). Shell Namibia hat vor rund drei Jahren eine Explorationslizenz erworben (PEL 39). Die jeweiligen Forschungsblöcke (2913A und 2914B) umfassen vor der namibischen Südküste ein Gebiet von 12000 Quadratkilometer und grenzen an südafrikanisches Gebiet an.
