Windhoek/Walvis Bay (kvs/fis) – Ein heftiger Sandsturm hat heute Nachmittag den Betrieb des Flughafens Walvis Bay lahmgelegt. Dort konnten Flugzeuge weder starten noch landen, was u.a. Verbindungen von und nach Windhoek sowie Johannesburg beeinträchtigt hat. So wurde eine Maschine aus Johannesburg nach Windhoek umgeleitet. Von dort sollten Passagiere per Bus zur Hafenstadt gebracht werden. – Auch in anderen Landesteilen spielte das Wetter verrückt; so gab es im Inland einen Temperatursturz, den viele den (verspäteten) Eisheiligen zuschreiben. In Elisenheim nördlich von Windhoek wurde Donnerstagfrüh beispielsweise am Thermometer 1 Grad Celsius abgelesen. (Foto: Konny von Schmettau)
