RCC im Schwarzen

Windhoek - Die Roads Contractor Company (RCC) hat in ihrem ersten Geschäftsjahr (1. April 2000 bis 31. März 2001) einen Umsatz von 223,9 Millionen Namibia-Dollar und einen Nettogewinn nach Steuerabzug von 24,9 Millionen Namibia-Dollar erzielt. Dies geht aus dem ersten Jahresbericht der staatlichen Straßenbaugesellschaft hervor, der in dieser Woche im Parlament vorgelegt wurde. In dem betreffenden Geschäftsjahr habe die RCC zudem 23,9 Millionen Namibia-Dollar in Infrastruktur und Gerätschaft investiert.

Der Bilanz zufolge konnte die Gesellschaft am 31. März 2001 Vermögenswerte in Höhe von 178,9 Millionen Namibia-Dollar verzeichnen. Die Gesamtkapitalrendite betrug 14 Prozent und die Eigenkapitalrendite betrug 19 Prozent.

Die RCC ist aus dem Straßenbau-Zweig der Transportabteilung (Department of Transport) des Ministeriums für Öffentliche Arbeiten, Transport und Kommunikation hervorgegangen. Das Unternehmen bekommt von der Regierung zurzeit Vorzugsaufträge für die Instandhaltung des Straßennetzes. Ab dem 1. April 2003 soll die RCC jedoch im offenen Wettbewerb mit Privatsektor-Unternehmen um Regierungsaufträge konkurrieren. Bis dann soll die RCC als kommerzialisiertes Unternehmen funktionieren, dass aus eigenen Kräften im freien Markt bestehen kann.
