Die Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) wurde aufgrund der herrschenden COVID-19-Pandemie zum zweiten Mal in Folge abgesagt. Die Trade Fair Society (OTFS) teilte gestern über den Kommunikationsbeauftragten der Stadtverwaltung, Jackson Muma, mit, dass nach sorgfältiger Abwägung der Gesundheit und Sicherheit von Besuchern, Angestellten, Ausstellern und allen Interessengruppen die Entscheidung getroffen wurde, die konventionelle Messe OATF 2021, die für den 26. bis 31. August geplant war, abzusagen. Gleichzeitig wurde auch das für den 3. Juli 2021 geplante Galadinner zur Beschaffung von Spendengeldern für die Messe abgesagt. „Obwohl wir als Organisatoren enttäuscht sind, dass diese bemerkenswerte Veranstaltung zwei Jahre in Folge nicht stattfinden konnte, sind wir davon überzeugt, dass die Absage die richtige Entscheidung ist“, stellte er fest. Muma fügte hinzu, dass die OATF vorerst die Möglichkeit prüfen wird, eine virtuelle Ausstellung zu einem später anzukündigenden Termin zu veranstalten. • Foto: OATF Website
