In einer Annonce gab der Staatsbetrieb NamPower am Mittwoch bekannt, dass die Stromversorgung an die Dörfer Maltahöhe, Bethanien, Koës, Gibeon, Kalkrand, Berseba und Tses am 8. Februar 2017 ab 10 Uhr in der Früh gekappt wird. Die Versorgung an die Städte Kombat, Mariental und Rehoboth wird ebenso unterbrochen sowie die Khomas-Siedlungen Bloukrans, Hatsamas, Kanubeb und Groot Aub. Der Entschluss ist die Folge von vorigen vergeblichen Unterhandlungen, in denen die seit Langem ins Hintertreffen geratenen Zahlungen angesprochen wurden. Zusätzlich sind nahezu 40 weitere Niederlassungen betroffen, wobei Lesern Namen wie die Noordoewer-Pumpstation, Ariamsvlei mitsamt Grenzposten (namibischer Grenzübergang nach Südafrika), die Aus-Wasseraufbereitungsanlage und kurioserweise sogar das NamPower-Village ins Auge stechen. • Foto: Archiv
