Windhoek - Die Waldorfschule im Windhoeker Stadtteil Avis lädt morgen Abend um 19.30 Uhr zu einem Vortrag über den Nordafrika-Feldzug ein. Dieser wird von Helmut von Leipzig gehalten, der dabei über seine persönlichen Erfahrungen von der Rekrutierung als Soldat bis zur Teilnahme an diesem Feldzug von damals berichten wird. Das Referat soll mit vielen Lichtbildern veranschaulicht werden.

Anlass dazu war die zufällige Wiederauffindung des Originalfahrzeuges aus dem Nordafrikafeldzug von "Wüstenfuchs" Erwin Rommel und dessen Restaurierung in Europa. Der vor 87 Jahren in Keetmanshoop geborene Helmut von Leipzig war der Fahrer dieses wüstentauglichen Automobils. Für den Vortrag wird der Farmer und Jagdführer aus Otavi anreisen, um den Oberstufenschülern der Waldorfschule über diese Zeit zu berichten. Vor einiger Zeit hatte von Leipzig bereits in Swakopmund an drei Abenden seine Geschichte aus dieser Zeit erzählt. Dadurch, dass er alles persönlich erlebt hat, wird dieses Referat zu einer besonderen Geschichtsstunde. Alle Interessierten sind ebenfalls dazu eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen.
