Langusten in Lüderitz

Zum dritten Mal steigt dieses Wochenende an der Waterfront von Lüderitzbucht das "Crayfish-Festival". Heute um 9 Uhr beginnt das Langusten-haltige Programm; bis Montag sollen die Feierlichkeiten dauern. "Eine offizielle Eröffnung wie in den Vorjahren wird es nicht geben", hieß es von der Lüderitzer Stadtverwaltung. "Wir hoffen natürlich, dass dennoch auch hochrangige Persönlichkeiten kommen."
Die Eröffnungsveranstaltung mit Premierminister Nahas Angula am Samstagvormittag, die im Internet immer noch in einigen Festival-Programmen auftaucht, wurde abgesagt. Zahlreiche Einladungen sollen verschickt worden sein, die anschließend jedoch wieder zurückgezogen wurden.
Für Freitag um 18 Uhr ist im Deutschen Schülerheim eine Wahl zum begehrenswerten Titel der "Miss Crayfish" angesetzt, um 19 Uhr beginnt im Nest Hotel ein Galadinner. Samstag um 13 Uhr ist ein Straßenumzug geplant, am Abend gibt es auf dem Waterfront Square ein Live-Konzert mit musikalischen Lokal-Größen wie ChiChi & Eddy, Gazza und der GMP Crew. Tickets kosten 35 N$ (Tel. 081-295 18 06). Sportler und ihre Fans sollen am Sonntag ab 10 Uhr und am Montag ab 9 Uhr bei einem Fußball- und Korbball-Wettbewerb im Lüderitzer Stadion auf ihre Kosten kommen. Mit Spannung bleibt abzuwarten, ob die von 2008 auf 2009 bereits gesunkene Besucherzahl in diesem Jahr übertroffen wird.
