Fast ein Zentimeter große Hagelkörner prasselten Montag am Spätnachmittag in einigen Teilen Windhoeks nieder, schlugen Blätter von den Bäumen und verwandelten für kurze Zeit die Gärten und Straßen in eine weiße Landschaft. Mit dem Hagel ging ein schwerer Regen nieder und das Klein- Windhoek- Rivier lief zum ersten Mal in dieser Regensaison. In Suiderhof wurden 30,0 mm gemessen, in Klein Windhoek 27,5 mm, Ludwigsdorf 24,0 mm, Avis 25,0 mm, Eros Flugplatz 8,4 mm und beim Windhoeker Wetteramt 26,4 mm.

Auf der Jagd- und Gästefarm Okaputa nördlich von Otjiwarongo wurden 30 mm Regen verzeichnet. Südlich des Waterberges fielen 4,0 mm auf der Wildfarm Otjikaru. In der vergangenen Woche wurden dort insgesamt 50,0 mm verzeichnet. Das Wetteramt meldete folgende Niederschläge für den vergangenen Montag: Ondangwa 0,2 mm; Grootfontein 2,5 mm; Otjiwarongo 11,0 bis 24,0 mm; Keetmanshoop 12,0 mm; Karasburg 0,4 mm; Okaukuejo 0,2 mm; Omaruru 0,1 mm; Bagani 7,2 mm und Eenhana 7,1 mm. Otwin Förster (links) und Oliver Katsch (rechts) nutzten am Montag nach dem Gewitter die Hagelkörner, um einen "Schneemann" zu bauen.
