Gute letzte Freitag-Ausgabe
Betr.: „Führungswechsel bei der Allgemeinen Zeitung“ (AZ 27. April 2018)
Just a small thank you to our Allgemeine Zeitung for Friday’s edition. Best one this year. Since 1956 until now, I’ve involved myself with the German language. As Heimleiter at Kabelmesse in 1961, I had little option other than speaking German. These senior boys were of great help and corrected me countless times in a well-mannered way. The word “Scheiße” until today seems a good escape route for many a faux pas. Hoffie’s Steenbokkie articles are tops (he was one of my Heim-Oukies in 1961.)
Why praise on last Friday’s edition?
1. Wrack blockiert Van Zyl’s Pass.
2.Abschied von Stefan - (such an oulike Oukie).
3.Leserpost - Joe Walter: Leoparden Angriff.
4.Vergessenes Riesen-Ei.
5.Ruth Wolter-Stijn. Danke Manni (he was a history teacher a long time ago). .
6.Briefe 1893 - 1904. Great stuff (I must get that book)!
Although my writing in the German tongue is horrendous, reading and understanding reaches at least 95% of the contents.
