Experience the Kavango Region Differently
Off the Beaten Track
All too often, travellers are found to bypass the scenic river route as you drive towards the Zambezi Region, in anticipation of the wildlife experiences to come. Don’t overlook the well-maintained gravel road that runs parallel to the B8, next time you travel to the North East and pass the Okavango River. This route offers views of Angola across the Okavango and adds a unique perspective on village life and local activities that set the atmosphere of the region, and it is a relaxed prelude to the Bwabwata National Park.
You would be ill-advised to use this route during the rainy season though, unless you are a seasoned off-road-driver or part of a group.
Slow down, sit back, relax and soak in the beauty of the north-east.
