Deutschsprachige Namibier werden aktiv

Swakopmunder Regionalforum Deutschsprachiger Namibier konstitutiert

Bei der Zusammenkunft beschäftigten sich die 32 Anwesenden zunächst einmal mit sich selbst. So wurde zum Beispiel ein Logo gewählt. Dieses beinhaltet den Zusatz „Gesprächskreis“ und den Namen der Regionalgruppe („Swakopmund“), um diese von anderen geplanten Regionalgruppen abgrenzen zu können. Laut Anton von Wietersheim können sich weitere Regionalgruppen konstituieren, wenn es diese auf ca. 20 Mitglieder schaffen. Bisher zeichnen sich – wenig überraschend - Windhoek und Swakopmund als Schwergewichte ab.

Auch die Wahl des Vorstands der Regionalgruppe Swakopmund stand an. Dabei herrschte Einigkeit im Hinblick auf die Kandidaten, welche entsprechend ohne Gegenstimmen gewählt wurden. Vorsitzender des Regionalforums Swakopmund wurde Joachim von Wietersheim. Folgende Vorstandsposten wurden an engagierte und kompetente Swakopmunder vergeben: Anton von Wietersheim (Sekretär) und Monika von Wietersheim im Bereich Finanzen. Beisitzer sind Professor Gerhard Tötemeyer, Professor Hans-Volker Gretschel, Raimar von Hase und Sabine Jacobi.

Das frischgebackene Regionalforum Swakopmund machte deutlich, dass es nicht nur Nabelschau betreiben will, sondern Aktivitäten entfalten und wahrgenommen werden möchte. Anton von Wietersheim erläuterte, welche Aktivitäten das gesamte Forum Deutschsprachiger Namibier bereits durchgeführt hat. So gab es ein Vorstellungsgespräch beim Staatspräsidenten Namibias, welches nach Auskunft von Wietersheims konstruktiv verlaufen ist. Auch mit dem Botschafter der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Vertretern des Goethe Instituts und Vertretern der OvaHerero Traditional Authority (OTA) sowie der Nama Traditional Leaders’ Association (NTLA) gab es bereits Begegnungen bzw. Vorstellungs- und Kooperationsgespräche.

Das breite Spektrum der genannten Organisationen bzw. Interessensgruppen zeigt, dass sich das Forum Deutschsprachiger Namibier aktiv in aktuelle politische, kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Fragen Namibias einbringen möchte. Ganz im Sinne von Professor Tötemeyer, der bei einem früheren Treffen des Gesprächskreises emotional appellierte hatte: „Wir dürfen nicht zulassen, dass wir marginalisiert werden und eine unbedeutende Randgruppe werden!“ Dem Eindruck, dass die deutschsprachigen Namibier sich in ihre eigenen Institutionen zurückziehen, soll mit den Aktivitäten des Forums Deutschsprachiger Namibier kräftig entgegengehalten werden.
