CRAN macht Fortschritte

Windhoek - Die Kontrollbehörde für Kommunikation (CRAN) hat nun verschiedene Änderungen im Sektor bekannt gegeben. Neben der Umwandlung dreier Lizenzen und einer neuen Beantragung von Dienstleistungen wurde jetzt auch eine Auflage für gewisse Verträge im Regierungsamtsblatt veröffentlicht.

"Jeder Vertrag für die Bereitstellung von Dienstleistungen, der nicht an Tarife gebunden ist, muss bei der Kontrollbehörde eingereicht werden", erklärte CRAN-Justiziar Emilia Namwoonde. Laut Amtsblatt haben alle Telekommunikation-Lizenzträger - der individuellen oder verordneten Bewilligungsklasse - bis zum 13. April Zeit, die besagten Verträge einzureichen.

Ebenso wurde im Amtsblatt mitgeteilt, dass der Internetanbieter Africa Online eine Übertragung seiner Genehmigung sowie die Kontrolle dieser beantragt habe. Demnach solle die Telekommunikationsdienst- und die Bandbreiten-Lizenz auf den Namen MWireless (Pty) Ltd übertragen werden. "Wir haben eine neue Dienstsparte aufgenommen", erklärte gestern der Africa-Online-Techniker Dewet Malherbe. Ihm zufolge wolle das Unternehmen Betrieben, wie zum Beispiel Hotels und Cafés, die Möglichkeit bieten, ihren Kunden WLAN (kabelloser Internetanschluss durch ein drahtloses Lokalnetzwerk) nach eigenem Ermessen anzubieten.

Ebenso wurden von CRAN die Unternehmen der Telekommunikationsdienstleistung aufgelistet, deren Lizenzen nun umgewandelt wurden (Africa Online, MTC, Wireless Technologies Namibia).
