Einen Dialog eröffnen, um die Belange der Jugend zu stärken. Dies tat die von der Bank Windhoek gesponserte Initiative #BeFree am 27. Februar. Etwa 20 km nördlich von Windhoek, in der informellen Siedlung Mix-Camp, wurde der „Kampf der Geschlechter“ unter der lokalen Jugend eröffnet. Das Event sollte eine sichere Umgebung für Jugendliche schaffen, um eine offene Diskussion über für sie wichtige Themen zu führen, besonders was die Geschlechter und ihre Rollen angeht. „Die Jugendlichen haben das Gesprächsangebot gut angenommen und haben begeistert mitgemacht“, sagte Steven Bernardus Harageib, Chef der Initiative. „Deutlich wurde, dass sie sich mehr Freizeitmöglichkeiten, Bildungsangebote und bessere Gesundheitsversorgung wünschen.“ Der nächste #BeFree-Dialog ist für April geplant und soll an der Küste stattfinden.
