Apius Auchab ist der Präsidentschaftskandidat der United Democratic Front of Namibia (UDF). Derzeit ist er Abgeordneter der namibischen Nationalversammlung und Mitglied der ständigen Ausschüsse für (a) Wirtschaft und öffentliche Verwaltung, (b) Verfassung und Recht, und (c) Natürliche Ressourcen.

Auchab wurde am 3. Oktober 1959 in Omaruru unter der damals südafrikanischen Verwaltung geboren. Er wurde 2013 zum Vorsitzenden der UDF gewählt und vertritt die Partei seit 2015 als Parlamentarier. Er äußert sich oft lautstark zu Landfragen und behauptet, die Unabhängigkeit des Landes bleibt bedeutungslos solange die Einwohner kein Land besitzen.
