Swakopmund/Walvis Bay/Windhoek (er) - Alle Importeure, Hersteller und Verteiler von Äthylalkohol bzw. Ethanol müssen sich binnen der nächsten drei Monate beim Zollamt in Namibia registrieren - sonst droht eine Strafe. Das teilte das Finanzministerium jetzt mit.

Demnach hat die Regierungsinstanz beziehungsweise das Zollamt einen deutlichen Anstieg bei der Einfuhr von Ethanol in Namibia wahrgenommen. „Verschiedene Händler importieren Ethanol ins das Land aus verschiedenen Gründen. Es dient aber hauptsächlich bei der Produktion von COVID-19-Produkten“, heißt es. In der Erklärung erinnert das Ministerium alle Importeure, Hersteller und Verteiler daran, dass eine Verbrauchssteuer auf Äthylalkohol bzw. Ethanol fällig sei. Würden Importeure oder Hersteller dies fälschlich klassifizieren, könnten sie mit einer Strafe rechnen.

Alkohol ist der Hauptbestandteil von Desinfektionsmitteln und gehört beim Händewaschen zur Norm.
