Windhoek (fis) - Air Namibia hat den Flug SW 286 von Frankfurt nach Windhoek am 24. Oktober gestrichen. Grund ist der Einsatz eines auf dieser Route verkehrenden Fliegers vom Typ Airbus A330-200 für die Abholung von rund 200 Namibiern aus Sotschi, wo ein internationales Jugendfestival stattfindet.

Diese Woche hatte es Spekulationen gegeben, ob Air Namibia auch den Windhoek-Frankfurt-Flug am Vortag (23. Oktober) ausfallen lässt. Aber Unternehmenssprecher Paul Nakawa bestätigte gestern auf Nachfrage von Hitradio Namibia, dass der Nachtflug SW 285 wie gewohnt stattfinde.

Als die Jugendlichen vergangene Woche im Airbus A330-200 von Windhoek nach Sotschi geflogen wurden, hat Air Namibia kurzerhand den Windhoek-Frankfurt-Flug ausfallen lassen und 120 Passagiere ohne Vorankündigung ins Hotel oder auf Alternativrouten geschickt. Danach kam der Flugplan auf dieser Strecke für mehrere Tage durcheinander, was für große Empörung gesorgt hat (AZ berichtete).
