University student, single mother, and full-time employee, Monika Titus, has shown nothing but resilience and tenacity as she managed to successfully balance her academics, personal life, work, as well as a newly established jewellery and accessory business called Kamoni Accessories.The young and ambitious Titus established her enterprise a year ago, providing locals with their much-coveted accessory needs with the help of her team of six."I'm currently working to make my jewellery accessible in many locations, so that my customers can avoid paying courier fees and to draw in new customers, because I realise not everyone enjoys making online purchases," Titus said in an interview with Careers Hub.The ambitious Titus has big plans for her passion-turned-business and has hopes of expanding to the coast as soon as October. "Kamoni Accessories is currently available at the Studio and will be sold at Blossomsnam in Windhoek and the Swakopmund branch as of 1 October," she added.Tenacity for growth Titus’ prospects for growth supersede location.She hopes to advance her craft and the quality of her brand by means of creating distinct jewellery packaging for her clients, as well as jewellery holders, as the demand for such has grown exponentially among her client base.Balancing her busy life and her big dream of growing her jewellery business requires discipline and a lot of motivation – both intrinsic and extrinsic. “What keeps me motivated is the entrepreneurial tenacity to accomplish the short- and long-term goals of my business. Working to develop a brand that is well-liked by many people and that will open up opportunities for others. Running a business is really difficult – many people have given up, and occasionally I experience the same feelings. Those days will always come. But every time I felt like giving up or when I was having trouble, my endurance and tenacity kept me going,” Titus explained. She added: "Even though I'm a single mother, a part-time student, and I work an eight-to-five job, things aren't getting any simpler. But because I want this and am confident that it will eventually pay off, I will continue to put forth the effort necessary to realise my goals one day at a time."My brand will undoubtedly expand, and while I'm not in a rush, I am confident that I will eventually reach my desired destination."
