Driven to succeed

Gonzalez Fransisco runs Uukongo Auto Body Repair CC, a successful auto repair and accessories workshop, with his mother, Indileni Fransisco.

The company was originally founded by Francisco's late father.

"To say he was passionate is an understatement; he lived for this business and gave everything he had to get it to where it is today," he said in praise of his father.

"However, my father died, and it is now my responsibility to honour him by growing this business to greater heights, as that is what he would have wanted me to do."

He said he has been involved in auto repairs since a young age.

"And it is because of this that I have grown to love and be passionate about vehicles," he said with a broad smile.



Growing stronger

The transition into adulthood can be difficult, consisting of the formation of a new identity, and the assumption of new responsibilities.

The transition can be especially difficult when it is suddenly pushed upon you.

According to Francisco, following the death of his father, he had to assume the role of man of the house, providing for and protecting his family. As the firstborn child, he is responsible for his three siblings and their mother. He said although this could be daunting, he is inspired by his role.

"Every day, I continue to ensure that there is bread on the table."

Francisco, who is still in his early twenties, describes himself as results-oriented, frequently analysing progress towards the goal and the procedures required to attain it. He said these tasks delight him.

In the same vein, he recognised his strong communication skills.

"I'm quite pleased with my ability to provide correct information since it always results in more successful outcomes for everyone concerned," he said.

"Most workplace difficulties are caused by misconceptions; hence, it is my responsibility to guarantee that everyone is on the same page. I increased my annual client retention rate by more than 25% as a result of this skill."



Make each day count

Uukongo Auto Body Repairs CC specialises in full-body or partial-body respraying of automobiles. It also provides services such as stripping and installing body pieces, panel beating damaged body parts, and repairing extensively damaged vehicles.

The company also sells a variety of auto components and accessories.

He concluded with a few words of advice, particularly to young men, warning that the world can be a harsh and brutal place, and saying that there is “no bread for slackers”, and that if you want to live comfortably, you must give it your all.
