Private businesses provide beacon of hope

In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Officeconomix and Namib Foam have joined forces to make a substantial donation to the Full Gospel Kindergarten and Day Care in Goreangab, Katutura. The collaborative effort resulted in the provision of 60 chairs and seven mattresses, significantly improving the learning environment for the young children.

Upon hearing about the initiative, Mauritz Van Niekerk of Namib Foam wasted no time in contributing to the cause. In a generous act of philanthropy, Namib Foam donated much-needed mattresses, addressing an immediate necessity for the day care facility. Inspired by the positive impact, Van Niekerk expressed his commitment to further support the community by considering additional contributions, including the creation of a larger play area and the installation of shade netting for the children.

Paul Oosthuizen emphasised the broader responsibility of private businesses in Namibia to actively engage with and support less privileged communities. He encouraged fellow businesses to follow suit and back initiatives like the Amos Meerkat Schools project, highlighting the vital role education plays in shaping a brighter future for all.

"The least we as private businesses in Namibia can do is get involved in one way or another in less privileged communities, and I encourage more businesses to support the Amos Meerkat Schools project," Oosthuizen said.
