Der Besitz von jedweden Produkten die Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) enthalten, ist in Namibia illegal und wird strafrechtlich verfolgt. Eine Frau, die eigens Hanf aus legal erworbener Quelle anpflanzte, um ihrem Lebensgefährten die Qualen einer schweren Krankheit zu erleichtern, wurde von einem Gericht für schuldig befunden.
