Windhoek- (jn) Die Paratus Telecommunications Group hat deutlich gemacht, dass ihr Bildung wichtig ist. Das Unternehmen hat Satellitenausrüstung, Infrastruktur, technische Unterstützung, Beratung und Kapital im Wert von über 2 Millionen N$ zugesagt, um EduVision dabei zu helfen, mehr Schulen in ländlichen Gebieten in ganz Namibia mit Online-E-Learning zu versorgen. EduVision ermöglicht abgelegenen und unterversorgten Schulen den Zugang zum Unterricht über digitale interaktive Plattformen. Am 12. September hielt der geschäftsführende Vorsitzende von Paratus, Barney Harmse, vor den Mitgliedern des ständigen parlamentarischen Ausschusses für Information, Kommunikation, Technologie und Innovation einen Vortrag über die Wirksamkeit des EduVision-Programms. ,,Ohne eine stabile und sichere Internetverbindung ist diese Art des E-Learnings einfach nicht möglich", erklärt Barney Harmse. ,,Die Bereitstellung elektronischer Verbindung für Schulen in unterversorgten Gebieten ist ein wichtiger Teil des Versprechens von Paratus, Afrika durch außergewöhnliche digitale Infrastruktur und Kundenservice zu verändern", so Harmse weiter. Seit 2018 hat Paratus EduVision dabei geholfen, zahlreiche Schulen und über 10 000 Schüler direkt anzuschließen. Indirekt profitieren Tausende von zusätzlichen Lernenden von dem online erhaltenen Lehrstoff.

Darüber hinaus ist die Wirkung der Partnerschaft von EduVision und Paratus spürbar, da eine der angeschlossenen Schulen - die Tsumkwe Secondary School - in den letzten zwei Jahren bemerkenswerte Ergebnisse erzielt hat.
