Um Unfallopfer und Menschen bei Operationen mit Blut zu unterstützen, müssen Krankenhäuser ständig vom namibischen Blutspendedienst (NAMBTS) mit dem kostbaren Lebenssaft Blut versorgt werden. Deshalb werden alle gesunden Bürger im Alter zwischen 18 und 65 Jahren und mit einem Gewicht über 50 kg zur Blutspende aufgerufen. Diese ist in den NAMBTS-Zweigstellen sowie an anderen Orten möglich.
