Young Brazilians confident of NFA Cup final

African Stars are currently on a pre-season tour to Botswana as they prepare for the final and the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds.
Young Brazilians FC team manager Manfred Christiaan is adamant that his side will be ready for African Stars on 27 July when the two clubs meet in the final of the PstBet NFA Cup.
The Karasburg giant-killers have set their hope high and are promising to give African Stars a tough time as they attempt to win a historic first-ever NFA Cup trophy.
“The spirit in the camp is high and the boys are eager to make sure that they are able to bring the trophy home.
“Reaching the final has been a great achievement for us already and we can only hope for the best.
“It is off-season and many of the players are currently making sure that they remain 100% fit for the final,” the team manager said.
Young Brazilians advanced to the final of the NFA Cup after beating crowd favourites Eeshoke Chula Chula on penalties in the semi-final.
African Stars fell behind in their semi-final against Khomas Nampol, before Ronald Ketjijere saved them blushes by forcing a penalty shoot-out in which the police team were eliminated 3-2. Goalkeeper Ndisiro Kamaijanda made sure that Stars reach the cup decider by saving two spot-kicks.
Following the semi-finals in mid June, the NFA Cup final was postponed due to a period of Brave Warriors internationals.
Reversal of fortunes
Young Brazilians has a brief, but eventful history against African Stars, the back-to-back Debmarine Namibia Premier Football League champions, while the far south club barely secured top-flight survival.
Stars famously humiliated Young Brazilians last season in a stunning 10-0 result at the Independence Stadium in December. Uetuuru Kambato scored a hat-trick, while six other Stars players got on the score sheet.

However, the Windhoek side’s trip to Karasburg two months later only yielded a goalless draw.
“We are not going to fear them because I believe we have a team which is strong enough to challenge the league champions.
“Yes, the defeat that was so heavy still haunts us and we really want to take revenge by breaking their hearts this time around.
“We know that they will be a tricky opponent but we know how they play and can work on that in order to stop them.”
