Wild Dog Safaris - Explore Namibia and its Cultures

Wild Dog Safaris has recently added a new scheduled tour called “7-Day Pride of Namibia”. The itinerary is designed to give visitors a brief tour of three of Namibia’s most iconic destinations: Etosha National Park, the coastal area around Swakopmund and the Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert.
Starting out, the first destination is a two night stay at the Okaukuejo campsite in Etosha, where guests can watch game from the much-loved and well-known waterhole adjacent to the rest camp. The visit includes a full day’s game drive all along the giant salt pan, going as far east as the Halali rest camp.
Leaving Okaukuejo, the next destination is the Prost Hotel in Swakopmund, where the guest will stay for two further nights. Here guests will enjoy a “free day”, during which they are welcome to explore the quaint and historic town on their own, following their individual itinerary. For those, who wish to stick to a pre-arranged schedule, there are various optional activities, that can booked in advance on their behalf.
The last two nights are spent at the Sesriem campsite in the south-western part of the Namib Desert. Activities will include visiting the attractions of Dune 45, the Dead Vlei, the world-renowned Sossusvlei and the intriguing Sesriem Canyon, formed over the ages by the Tsauchab River.
Wild Dog Safaris also offers access to a new San-related experience at Uakii Wilderness Bush Camp, which is situated 12km outside of Gobabis in the east of Namibia. The one night itinerary is set up, so as to allow guests to experience the traditional culture of the Kalahari San Communities, who introduce visitors to their traditional way of living, as was done in Africa by the Bushman for thousands of years.
After an early morning pick up in Windhoek, guests will spend the day with their hosts, a San family at Uakii Wilderness Bush Camp. Here they will be shown how to make a bow and arrow as well as ostrich-egg pearls and other bushman-crafts. Traditional hunting and gathering skills will be taught during a bush walk. The day will be rounded off with guests being encouraged to participate in San singing and dancing as well as playing games around a camp fire. After a good night’s rest and a wholesome breakfast, the guests return to Windhoek.
As an additional incentive to make use of Wild Dog Safaris, selected trips are subject to discounts as high as 18% during the low season.
