Trommeln zum Sundowner

Swakopmund - Wenn dieser Tage am Strand von Swakopmund die Sonne untergeht, dann wird das mit Trommelwirbel begleitet. Die Jungs von Ongoma laden nämlich während der Feriensaison allabendlich zur Trommelrunde am Strand ein.

Was sich in Windhoek bewährt hat, soll nun in Swakopmund weitergeführt werden: die wöchentlichen "drumming circles", die sonst immer im Innenhof bei Studio 77 stattfinden.

Die Trommler treffen sich zum Sonnenuntergang in der Nähe der Swakoprivier-Mündung bei der Tiger Reaf Beach Bar. Wer keine eigene Trommel mitbringt, kann gegen eine Leihgebühr Vorort eine westafrikanische Djembe mieten.

Vorkenntnisse sind nicht unbedingt erforderlich. Die Trommel- und A cappella-Gruppe Ongoma zeigt, wie's gemacht wird. Erfahrenen Trommlern muss deswegen nicht langweilig werden: Sie haben genügend Gelegenheit, sich mit wilden Soli auszutoben, während die Anfänger den Rhythmus halten.
