Präsident erklärt Wahltag-2019 zum Feiertag

Windhoek (ste) - In einer amtlichen Erklärung seitens des namibischen Präsidentenbüros, hat das Staatsoberhaupt Hage Geingob, der als Chef der Regierungspartei Swapo um die Wiederwahl als Präsident kandidiert, Mittwoch, den 27. November 2019, zum gesetzlichen Feiertag erklärt. Dies diene dem Zweck, Namibiern die Möglichkeit einzuräumen, an den Präsidentschaftswahlen sowie der Wahl einer Nationalversammlung teilzunehmen.

Die Entscheidung, den Wahltag zum Feiertag zu erklären, entspricht vorigen Wahltagen und wurde auf Empfehlung der Wahlkommission von Namibia (ECN), gemäß des Wahlgesetzes getroffen.
