Protest gegen Mehrausgaben

Windhoek - Angaben über unbewilligte Mehrausgaben der Stadt Windhoek für das Jahr 2003/04 erstrecken sich über elf Seiten der jüngsten Stadtratssitzung von Mittwochabend. Es handelt sich um Ausgaben, die nicht im Haushaltsplan vorgesehen sind und um Beträge in Höhe von etwa N$ 1000 bis zu N$ 172000. Beim letzteren Betrag hat der im Haushalt vorgeschlagene Betrag von N$637500 zum Ausheben von Gräbern nicht ausgereicht. Zusätzliche Gräber mussten für den obigen Betrag geschaufelt werden.

Ratsherr Nico Smit von der Republikanischen Partei legte gegen die vielen Fälle nicht voraus berechneter Mehrausgaben Protest ein. Er vermutet Misswirtschaft.

Der Vorsitzende der Exekutive, Dr. Björn von Finckenstein, beschwichtigte ihn, dass die Mehrausgaben in der Regel durch Einsparung in anderen Haushaltsposten abgedeckt seien.
