Open Letter to DSTV Africa
Re: UEFA-matches not available on DSTV’s Compact Budget
Betr.: UEFA-matches not available on DSTV's Compact Budget
Fans could watch the UEFA Champions League for many years on the DSTV-Channels Supersport 223 and Supersport 225, but now it seems as though in future that service is only available to Premium Accounts and NOT anymore on Compact Budget. When phoning DSTV, the answer is always: “Thanks for the inquiry. The matches that used to be broadcast on SS5 will now be available on SS7, therefore UEFA matches will still be broadcast on the channels 223, 227 and 231, which form part of the DSTV Compact Budget-bouquet.” But that is not true, as the last match of Liverpool vs. Hoffenheim was broadcast in South Africa on channel S3 (not on SS223) and locally only on SS225, which channel is not part of the Compact Budget. The same applies to the Draws of the Champion- and UEFA Euro-Leagues, which were broadcast in SA on S3 (not on SS223) and locally only on SS225! That means no more life game for Compact Budget-subscribers. Is that the reason why you grant a bonus as from 10 Sep 2017 for one month to subscribers, who open premium sport channels? Is that done to bring us under the impression that you care? For DSTV's information: Many sport fans do NOT have so much money (especially in Africa) and all these years, we had access to UEFA games on the Compact Budget-bouquet. As German-speaking subscriber I only subscribed to DSTV for this purpose, watching UEFA-soccer. To now pay N$ 800.00 per month just to be able to watch UEFA is ridiculous; I will rather cancel my subscription.
Maybe I am wrong and you can prove that UEFA is still broadcast live on Compact SS223, SS227 and SS231 after all. I address this letter to you in anticipation of obtaining an affirmative answer.
