McHenry Venaani ist der Präsidentschaftskandidat der Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) für die bevorstehenden Wahlen. Venaani wurde am 8. September 1977 geboren und ging an die Dawid- Bezuidenhout-Sekundarschule in Khomasdal (Windhoek). Er studierte an der Universität von Wolverhampton. Er ist Präsident der offiziellen Oppositionspartei Namibias und war bereits von 2002 bis 2010 Mitglied der Nationalversammlung. Unter seiner Leitung wurde die Demokratische-Turnhallen-Allianz (DTA) in die PDM umfunktioniert. Als Oppositionsführer hat Venaani die Ethik und das Verhalten der Regierungspartei in Frage gestellt, da sie Korruption befeuere, die er als institutionelles Phänomen im namibischen Staat erkennt. Er fordert von seinen Kollegen nach

der Wahl, das Land vor die persönlichen Interessen zu stellen – er will eine „lebendige PDM-Vertretung”.
