Mars ganz weit weg

Windhoek - "Das stimmt überhaupt nicht", so hat der Astronom Eberhard von Grumbkow die neuesten Mars-Gerüchte dementiert. Laut einer E-Mail soll am heutigen Donnerstag der Planet Mars der Erde so nah wie vor über 50000 Jahren kommen.

Von Grumbkow, der die E-Mail als "Märchen" beschreibt, sagt, dass es diese "Begegnung" am 28. August 2003 gegeben habe. Dabei sei Mars 55,8 Millionen Kilometer von der Erde entfernt gewesen. Seit dem kommt jährlich um diese Zeit die gleiche E-Mail auf und führt viele Menschen in die Irre. Laut von Grumbkow wird es am 29. Januar 2010 eine ähnliche "Begegnung" geben, wenn der Mars, die Erde und Sonne wieder in einer Linie stehen.
