Landwirtschaft von San-Gemeinde trägt Früchte

Das vom Nyae Nyae Development Fund Namibia (NNDFN) und seinen Spendern unterstützte „Hausgarten“-Projekt trägt nach einer guten Regenzeit Früchte. Die jüngsten Regenfälle haben die Anstrengungen vom Nyae-Nyae-Hegegebiet und dessen Gemeinden in ihren Gärten belohnt. Die Wassermelonen stehen nun zur Ernte bereit. Ob zum Eigenverzehr oder zum Verkauf, die Früchte sind für das weitere Überleben der San in der Nähe von Tsumkwe von entscheidender Bedeutung, da sie zunehmend von der Landwirtschaft abhängig werden. Der Klimawandel hat einen enormen Einfluss auf die traditionelle Lebensweise und die Ernährungssicherheit der San-Gemeinschaften. Das Hegegebiet hat zusammen mit dem NNDFN und seinen Spendern fast 10 Jahre lang an diesem Projekt zur Entwicklung von Gärten gearbeitet. Durch verschiedene Initiativen haben die San-Farmer verschiedene landwirtschaftliche Methoden kennen gelernt und ihr Fachwissen aufgebaut. • Foto: NNDFN
