Geingob ernennt zweite Arbeitsgruppe

Achtköpfiges Gremium soll Vierte Industrielle Revolution fördern

Swakopmund/Windhoek (er) - Präsident Hage Geingob hat eine weitere Arbeitsgruppe (Task Force) ins Leben gerufen - dieses Mal soll das achtköpfige Gremium neue Möglichkeiten und Gelegenheiten im Zusammenhang mit der Vierten Industriellen Revolution (4IR) identifizieren. Das teilte das Staatshaus jetzt schriftlich mit.

Laut der Erklärung ist diese Entscheidung darauf zurückzuführen, dass „die Welt einen Paradigmenwechsel durchgemacht hat“ und ein „besseres Verständnis über die Auswirkungen der 4IR auf die Gesellschaft erfordert“. „Die Einrichtung einer 4IR-Arbeitsgruppe ist im Einklang mit der wirtschaftlichen Säule des Zweiten Harambee-Wohlstandsplans“, wird Geingob zitiert. Und: „Das Gremium muss eine Bewertung durchführen und feststellen, ob Namibia für die Vierte Industrielle Revolution bereit ist.“ Geingob erwartet außerdem, dass die Gruppe entsprechende Vorschläge auf Änderungen der rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen präsentiert. „Darüber hinaus sollte die Task Force die Regierung dabei unterstützen, das volle Potenzial unterschiedlicher Technologien festzustellen, um die sozioökonomische Entwicklung Namibias voranzutreiben“, heißt es weiter.

Das Gremium wird angeführt von Prof. Anicia Peters von der Univiersät Namibia (UNAM). Die anderen Mitglieder sind Dr. Erold Naomab, Grace Hamauka, Dino Balloti, Prof. Kenneth Matengu, Nashilongo Gervasius, Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala und Dr. Martyn Davies. „Die Arbeit der Personen ist ehrenamtlich und sie dienen ab den 1. Juli für zwölf Monate“, heißt es weiter.

Dies ist die zweite Arbeitsgruppe, die Geingob binnen kürzester Zeit ernannt hat. Vor kurzem hat er eine weitere Gruppe ernannt, die angesichts der negativen Folgen der COVID-19-Pandemie Abhilfemaßnahmen entwickeln soll, um Unternehmen zu schützen und Arbeitsplätze zu erhalten (AZ berichtete).
