Die hiesige Krebsvereinigung (Cancer Association of Namibia, CAN) hat im Rahmen ihres CHICA-Hilfsprogrammes (Children Fighting Cancer) Decken, Seife und Waschmittel für Kinderkrebspatienten gespendet. Laut dem CAN-Geschäftsführer, Rolf Hansen, reisen Mütter oft mit ihren krebskranken Kindern aus ländlichen Regionen an, ohne zu wissen, was sie erwartet und wie lange sie in dem Zentralkrankenhaus in Windhoek bleiben werden. „Die meisten dieser Familien verfügen nicht über die finanziellen Mittel, für ihre grundlegenden sanitären Bedürfnisse zu sorgen“, so Hansen. Der Geschäftsführer bedankte sich bei Liberty Life Namibia und der Gemeinschaft, die es CAN ermöglichen, sich um die Kinderkrebspatienten zu kümmern. Foto: CAN
