Q. What are your roles and responsibilities in this position?
A. My responsibilities include providing financial advice to Sanlam clients, along with a financial plan in line with the customer value proposition, and treating customers fairly by offering excellent customer service.
Q. Please describe how you felt when you received the news that your application for this position was successful?
A. I was very excited, especially that I got this offering from the company I wished to work for since I matriculated.
Q. What do you wish to see and implement now that you’ve been appointed?
A. I’d like to see more invested team-building programmes.
Q. Please share your educational background with us.
A. I hold a national certificate in marketing and sales from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Q. What is your favourite thing about your job?
A. The ownership of my practice. Although I have a manager or team leader, she does not have to put much pressure on my practice as I take responsibility. She assists and gives guidelines for the practice not to fail.
Q. What are the biggest challenges in this position?
A. You should remain focused and work according to your weekly plan, otherwise if you don’t plan, you will fail. You have to keep the spirit of doing the right thing over and over and ensure daily progress in your practice.
Q. Can you share your greatest achievements in your career?
A. I haven’t achieved much as I have just started; however, I am busy working on outstanding offerings for Sanlam in comparison to our competitors. This will aid me to have more sales and compete better in the market. I am hopeful that one day I will be one of the executive team members and this will be a great achievement.
Q. What does your job entail?
A. As a financial adviser, you should be able to educate the client, do a needs analysis for the client, generate financial reports for them and give recommendations as per the analysis conclusion.
Q. What advise do you have for youth aspiring to be in your position some day?
A. Being a financial adviser is not an easy job, however, if you have the right qualities, you are guaranteed success. Always have the right attitude towards your practice. Be influential, always have confidence, be trustworthy, pay attention to details and be guided by the company principles, values and ethics.

A. I love playing dominoes - the game always refreshes my mind, makes me forget the day’s stress and prepares me for the next day.
