Swakopmund ist auf der Suche nach einem neuen „Willkommen in Swakopmund“-Schild. Die Swakopmunder Stadtverwaltung hat jetzt die Öffentlichkeit aufgerufen, Ideen und Entwürfe für das neue Willkommensdenkmal am Ortseingang zu präsentieren. Die Frist wurde auf den 15. März verlängert und sollten per E-Mail ([email protected]) eingereicht werden. Mit dieser Initiative reagiert die Stadt auf Anregungen aus der Öffentlichkeit. Denn: Swakopmund feiert in diesem Jahr sein 130. Jubiläum und Einwohner konnten für eine im August geplante Feierlichkeit Anregungen geben. „Viele Leute haben Gedanken geteilt, aber ein besonderer Kommentar stach hervor, nämlich, das Willkommensschild muss sich definitiv ändern‘“, teilte die Stadtverwaltung mit.
