#aznamnews: Rinder-Ausfuhrverbot nach Südafrika

Die Ausstellung von Genehmigungen für den Export von Rindern nach Südafrika, wurde vom Veterinärsamt mit sofortiger Wirkung ausgesetzt. Dieser Schritt folgt dem Verbot in Südafrika, Rinder von einem Ort zum anderen zu verlagern, nachdem der Staat versucht die zahlreichen Maul- und Klauenseuche-Ausbrüche im Land unter Kontrolle zu bringen. Südafrika ist Namibias größter Markt für den Export von lebenden Absatzkälbern. Nach Angaben des namibischen Fleischrates wurden im zweiten Quartal dieses Jahres 68 429 Rinder vermarktet. Davon wurden 38 290 sofort nach Südafrika, Angola, Botswana, Sambia und Sambia exportiert, während 23 880 Tiere in exportzugelassenen Schlachthöfen und 6 259 in Schlachthöfen der B- und C-Klassen vermarktet wurden. Dieser Entschluss Südafrikas dürfte eine massive Auswirkung auf die namibische Landwirtschaft haben.
