An die Zeit seines ersten TV-Formats hat der britische Starkoch Jamie Oliver nicht nur gute Erinnerungen. „Als meine Show ‚The Naked Chef‘ durch die Decke ging, wurde ich zum Feind Nummer eins bei den Männern in England. Ich war Konkurrenz. Deshalb hatte ich ziemlich schlimme eineinhalb Jahre. Ich wurde verfolgt und auch ein paarmal von Typen verprügelt. Denn ihre Freundinnen sagten: ‚Warum koche ich sieben Tage die Woche? Warum kannst du nicht wie Jamie sein?‘“, erzählte der 47-Jährige. Auf die Frage, was so ein Verhalten über Männer Aussage, antwortete Oliver: „Männer haben ein bisschen lange gebraucht, um zu kapieren: Kochen ist nicht nur etwas für Mädchen, sondern mit Kochen kommt man an die Mädchen ran!“ Jamie Oliver wurde 1999 mit der Sendung „The Naked Chef“ sprunghaft bekannt. Er hat sich insbesondere den Kampf gegen ungesunde Lebensmittel und für besseres Schulessen auf die Fahnen geschrieben. Foto: goodreads.com
