Members of TASA are generally tour operators and safari specialists, but there is also a number of travel agents, car hire companies and some accommodation establishments. For local and international operators this means that dealing with members of TASA is the best guarantee available that you will be working with a reputable company who is obliged to conform to a specific standard of professional conduct.
TASA is a member of the Federation of Namibian Tourism Associations (FENATA) through which it consults with the Namibian Government on appropriate legislation regarding tourism in the country. TASA also assists and promotes training in various fields of tourism through the Namibian Academy of Tourism and Hospitality (NATH).
Any new company wishing to conduct tours or safaris in Namibia can apply to TASA for Provisional, Associate or Affiliate Membership, but the Provisional Members have to serve a probation period during which they have the opportunity to demonstrate the professional nature of their operation. Once this is completed, they become eligible to apply for Full Membership and upon acceptance may display the TASA logo.
