Die Kaiserliche Realschule im Gründungsjahr 1909. Heute beherbergen die Räumlichkeiten in der Robert Mugabe Avenue (gegenüber der Christuskirche) den National Monuments Council.
1909, 19 January, 7:00 hrs: Opening of the Kaiserlichen Realschule (KRS) in Windhoek with 12 pupils.
1921: German is introduced as medium of instruction in government school up to Grade 8
1929, 18. November: First Abitur examinations
1940: Renaming of the ‘Deutsche Oberschule’ into “Höhere Privatschule” (HPS)
Damals war´s: Chemieunterricht im Jahre 1932.
1941: First Matric examinations (Joint Matriculation Board)
1949, 28. October: Founding of the “Deutscher Schulverein Windhoek (1949)”
1962: Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS), Reintroduction of grade 13. 30. November/1. December: First oral examination within the German Abitur (Grade13) (Extended supplementary Examinations in Grade 13).
1977: AGM resolution to open the school for children of all population groups from 1978 onwards.
1988: 20 foreign-language secondary school students start in standard 6/3.
1995: introduction of HIGSCE examinations
